Information About Tophane Clock Tower
Tophane Clock Tower is located in Tophane Park in Bursa.
Historical
It was first built during the reign of Sultan Abdulaziz, but was demolished on an unknown date until the 1900s. It was re-started on August 2, 1904 and completed on August 31, 1905. It was put into service on August 31, 1906 by Governor Reşit Mümtaz Pasha in honor of Abdülhamit's ascent to the throne.
Structural Information
The tower has 6 floors and is 65 meters long and 4.65 meters wide. It is planned to have 4 clocks on top.
Today, it has an electronic watch and is used by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality for the purpose of fire surveillance.
