Uzungöl, Trabzon is a tourist district of the district of Çaykara.

It takes its name from the lake where it is located on the coast. This lake was formed when the rocks falling from the slopes closed the front of the Haldizen stream.

The settlement was first seen in the Greek records under the name aho Saraho 15 in 1586 records. According to the records, the first permanent settlement in the region is after the 1650s. In the following period, the population increased with the arrival of Muslim people and in the 1876 records, the settlement was 229 households. The settlement, which is also known as Ş Şerah te in the history, has been attached to Of District for many years after the foundation of the Republic. Since 1948, when Çaykara was a district, the entire region remained within the boundaries of this district. Uzungöl Municipality, which was established in 1969, was closed by Law No. 6360.

Geography
Trabzon is 99 km from Uzungol, while Caykara is 19 km from the property. Turkey, where the rain forest, there are bulbous and the junction of Kaçkar Mountain. This region is also home to the oldest forests of the earth in the temperate region. It is green in all seasons of the year thanks to abundant rainfall and relative temperate climate. There are more than 60 endemic plant species identified in Demirkapı and Soğanlı mountains. It also contains a rich environment in terms of wild animal life. A total of 59 mammals and 250 bird species were identified in Uzungöl Special Environmental Protection Area. There are mammals, Brown Bear, Roe, Wolf, Jackal, Fox, Wild Boar, Lynx, Badger, Marten, Otter, Hooked Horned Mountain Goat, Wild Goat etc. The flora and vegetation of the area was determined by the studies carried out in the region for the purpose of determining the vegetative biodiversity of the Special Environmental Protection Area and a total of 658 plant taxa belonging to 311 genera, 125 subspecies and 68 varieties, were identified in the area. A total of eight different amphibian species, including two tailed frogs, were found in Uzungöl region. Long Lake; It has conservation status such as Natural Protected Area, Special Conservation Area and Nature Park.
