Departments

The bridge leading to the entrance on the front of the castle was destroyed and therefore it was difficult to enter the castle. At the entrance there is a mosque built by Muslims who seized the castle. There are old writing and writing tablets in and around this mosque.

The dungeon is on the front of the castle. There are inscriptions written in cuneiform on the outer face of the dungeon. It is known that these were written by Komagene and Romans. Inside the dungeon, there are primitive structures. Part of the dungeon is the entrance of a tunnel. As this tunnel progresses, it narrows and oxygen is completely exhausted. For this reason, the researchers could not reach the end of the tunnel and its secret could not be solved. The treasure known to be in the castle is claimed to be at the end of this tunnel.

At the top of the castle are fountains, water cisterns, shops and houses built by Arabs and Muslim Turks, but these have become unusable today.

On the back of the castle are reliefs, passages and three windows that cannot be solved. The three windows are built on a steep, stiff rock at the back of the castle and are very high. Therefore, it is difficult to reach. The three windows are aligned with each other and have a smooth rectangular shape. These windows are thought to open into a room. It is thought that the three windows were built in this hard-to-reach point in order to ensure that no one could reach the Muslim raids and prevent them from entering the room. It is claimed to have a connection to the tunnel in the dungeon and to have the treasure here.
