The Diyarbakır Castle is a historical building in the Sur district of Diyarbakır. It consists of two parts; inner castle and outer castle. The main entrances in the city walls are Dağ Kapi, Urfa Kapi, Mardin Kapi and Yeni Kapi. The city walls, which are nearly nine thousand years old, are the longest and largest defense wall in the world after the Great Wall. In 2000, UNESCO included the structure in the World Heritage Temporary List, and in 2015 it registered it as a World Heritage Site. In addition, the very old structure of Diyarbakir Goat Burcu is located in Sur district.
