Information About The Monastery of St. Nicholas
Aya Nikola Monastery, Kırklareli in Turkey Kiyiköy in the province, located in the town Visa is one of the world's oldest stone-carved monastery.
It belongs to the period of Justinian I in the 6th century AD (527-565 AD) and is one of the best examples of rock monasteries. Although a wooden place was added in front of it in the 19th century, no remains have survived from this section.
The ground floor of the monastery, which was formed by carving the rocks, is the church and the lower basement floor is the holy spring. There are also resting and needing cells of the monks.
