Poyrazlar lake is an alluvial embankment lake located on the edge of Sakarya River, 7-8 km northeast of Sakarya city center. Another name of the lake, which takes its name from the village of Poyrazlar, is Teke lake. The lake area is 67 hectares and the length of the shores is 4400 m.

The lake discharges its excess water to the Sakarya River 350 m away. The southern part of the lake, which has a depth of 3-8 meters, is shallow and covered with reeds. The area around the lake is the forest. There is a small flood in the southern part of the lake, which is important for feeding and breeding of waterfowl.

The area around the lake is organized by the Regional Directorate of Forestry as a recreation area for daily visitors and is operated by the private sector. There were 154 bird species, of which 64 were native throughout the year, 36 in winter, 47 in summer and 6 in transit. Since the freshwater perch and pike caught in the lake decreased in number, the Fisheries cooperative terminated its activities in 1992. From the lake of Poyrazlar; velvet, freshwater perch, crane, rudd, silvery pond fish, red eye, burr and crayfish are caught. During the hunting season, 20 to 85 kg of fish are caught per day.

The lake, which is located at the 10th km on the old Sakarya-Karasu road, is at the 5th km after the Suns junction on the New Karasu road.

The fact that 7 species with a frequency of 81-100% (continuously observed species) belong to the order Passeriformes confirms this situation. In addition, 3 of the remaining species are rare, 27 are rare, 29 are generally and 19 are mostly observed species.

Around the lake there are forested areas consisting of hornbeam and oak, as well as forested areas consisting of larch and yellow pine species with subsequent afforestation. The area around the lake is used extensively for picnics, especially at the weekend. Lake; it is very rich in crane, bow and carp.
