Architectural

The building was built with Artuqid architecture. The two-storey madrasah was built around a single courtyard. The southern facade of the structure faces the plain. The entrance door of the building is located on this facade. The door is decorated with various embroideries; but some of them have been destroyed. To the west of the building is a mosque used by the Shafi'i. This rectangular masjid is a domed structure. The mosque used by the Sunnis is located to the east of the building. This masjid is a little smaller than that used by the Shafi'i. To the north of the building is a fountain.

The building has a total of twenty-three madrasah rooms. Eleven of them are downstairs and twelve are upstairs.

The water flowing in the pool in the courtyard of the madrasa holds a mystical description. With the flow of water, human life from birth to death is symbolized. The birth of the water from the fountain, the youth of the spilled place, the maturity of the elongated gutter and the collection of water in a pool is said to represent death. Then this water is transferred to the soil through the canals, and this can be found again from the soil. Kasimiye Madrasah is designed with a different architecture, all the classrooms can benefit from the sunlight until the sun goes down after sunset. The door height of the classrooms is just over one meter. It is stated that this height is especially preferred and made in the sense that the student bends his head and shows respect when entering the presence of his teacher. Kasımiye Madrasa, which is known as a monumental work where symbolism from Central Asia embraces Islamic philosophy, welcomes its visitors today as Al Jazeera Art Museum.
