Harput Castle (Milk Castle) is an architectural structure constructed by the Urartians on a rectangular plan. It is located in the historical Harput neighborhood within the borders of the present Elazig province. The castle consists of two parts: inner and outer castle. According to the rumor, milk was added to the mortar used in its construction instead of water, so it is also called "Milk Castle". According to another rumor, the reason for using milk instead of water in the Milk Castle mortar is said to be water shortage during the period.
