It is a museum where archaeological artifacts are exhibited in and around Gaziantep. Since 2005, the mosaics extracted from the villas in the ancient city of Zeugma have been exhibited in this museum.

Gaziantep Archaeological Museum was founded in 1944 by Sabahat Göğüş, one of the first archaeologists of the republican era. The museum, which originally served in the Nuri Mehmet Paşa Mosque, was moved to a small city museum in 1969; In 2005, the additional building was put into service. In the annex building, mosaic panels, sculptures and steles are exhibited, mostly from the ancient city of Zeugma. The ethnography section within the museum has been moved to Hasan Süzer Ethnography Museum. Gaziantep Archeology Museum moved to Zeugma Mosaic Museum in 2011, which is the largest mosaic museum in the world with its 1700 square meter mosaic.
