Bingöl Tourist Map With Attractions Visiting Places

The name Bingöl comes from the Mount Bingöl in the Varto district on the Erzurum - Muş border. Until 1944, the name Çapakçur was officially used. As the Castle of Çapakçur is in a steep and mountainous area, the city center was moved to Çewlig or Çolig locality on the river bed on an uncertain date. The name of Mount Bingöl, which has been recorded in Turkish since the 16th century, was given to the province of Bingöl, which was established on 4 January 1936, and to the town of Çolik (Çapakçur) on 13 December 1944.
