During the excavations, 5 culture layers were identified. The remains of Byzantine, Roman, Galatian, Phrygian, Hittite, Assyrian and Hatti civilizations were reached. Hattusha was the capital of the Hittite Empire in the 14th and 13th centuries BC. Since 1986 it is on the World Cultural Heritage List. Tablets written in cuneiform have been on the World Memory List since 2001.

Resource Values
31 temples were identified in the ancient city of Hattuşaş. It is estimated that the largest temple, the largest of the temples, is dedicated to the storm god and the sun goddess, the largest of their gods. 11 underground silos dating to the 13th century BC were found in the area. The Hittite state collapsed in 12 BC but the settlement continued in Hattusha. Hattusha takes the appearance of a town where Phrygian influences appeared in the 12th century BC. The following civilizations were active in the area; Persia, Hellenic, Galatian, Roman and Byzantine traces are found.

Yazılıkaya Temple: Hattusha's most impressive and large religious area is the open-air temple in the countryside. Here, up to 90 goddesses, gods, animals and imaginary creatures are processed into rocks. In the Hittite culture, during the New Year or spring ceremonies, all the gods gathered in the house of the storm god. It is thought that this moment was written on Yazılıkaya.
